Sunderland City Council has granted a licence to Siglion to allow site investigation works to get started in the area to the rear of Cuthbertson Court, on Cut Throat Dene, Seaburn.
The work is the same as that currently underway in other areas of the proposed regeneration site, and is standard practice at a pre-planning stage, to inform detail design work that will be undertaken if the planning application is given the green light.
As we have communicated before, it is common to do these investigative works pre-planning, as there is normally a condition to have a remediation strategy agreed before work can start on site.
The team will be on-site, undertaking work in the Cuthbertson Court area of the seafront over the next few days and work will last no longer than two weeks. Monitoring will then take place over a three-month period before the bore holes and caps are removed and the area is reinstated.
As before, the work is being managed by Cundalls on behalf of Siglion, and the contractor who will carry out the work is Allied Exploration & Geotechnics Limited.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss any of this – or the wider plans for Seaburn – with Katie Sully, development director at Siglion.
